TWO-THIRDS OF UK WORKERS HAVE ‘QUIET QUIT’ THEIR JOBS – Have your staff already left you? 

Two-thirds of UK professionals have “quiet quit” their jobs and are only putting in the minimum of what is required of them in their roles, according to a new survey published by HR NEWS 

The results of the new Job Satisfaction Survey of UK professionals showed that 67% of those polled say the term “quiet quitting” either very much or somewhat described their own attitude to work at the moment, while 69% said the same was true of their colleagues. 

This “quiet quitting” trend has disengaged workers choosing to do only what is absolutely required from them during their contracted hours. – this is bad news for business. 

One of the major factors in a disengaged workforce is a lack of opportunities for progression and boredom.  


So what can you do as an employer? 

Creating opportunities for your employees to gain new skills and qualifications is one of the easiest ways to reengage.   

The following statistics demonstrate the importance of proper job training to today’s workforce. 

  • 70% of employees would be somewhat likely to leave their current job to work for an organization known for investing in employee development and learning. 
  • 34% of employees who left their previous job were motivated to do so by more career development opportunities. 
  • 86% of millennials would be kept from leaving their current position if training and development were offered by their employer. 
  • Over 70% of high-retention-risk employees will leave their company in order to advance their career. 

The UK government recognise the risk to the economy this poses and have developed a fund to help Employers in England create learning and development opportunities. 

The government will fund 95% of the cost of training for employees in England and employers can put UNLIMITED staff through the programme.
